Hiking Solo

March 26, 2020

New Trail (for me)

Checked out a trail that’s new to me. Didn’t meet any other hikers, but would have stepped 6’ off the trail if I had.

Property donated by family of a good friend

This Sandy River trail is about a mile from Bluff Road in Sandy Oregon down to the Sandy River. It starts on an old logging road. The land was donated by the Schoppert family. They logged it many years ago, and replanted parts of it. The son, Lyle Schoppert, is a friend of mine and a fine Christian man.

Babbling brook

Video of a beautiful little stream tumbling into the Sandy River.

Should have brought my fishing pole

Down at the river I saw some fishermen with wading boots.

On the way back, I took the Jim Slagle side loop.

Saw some beautiful trilliums.

Can you help me identify this flower? I’ve never seen one of these before. (Comment box is below)

Skunk cabbage is blooming.

This is a fine trail for a family hike.
